marry me at marriott

It was my first time at Marry Me at Marriott this year. I came to support Bride and Breakfast’s EIC as she walked for designer Hannah Kong, one of the featured designers of the event.

It started out on a high note with delicious food–sushi (yeah!), cold cuts, a big platter of what looked like steak, an assortment of hors d’oeuvres (foie gras heaven!), wine and champagne. Everyone was nicely dressed in gowns and suits, which I had no idea was the dress code for that day. Thankfully I was smart enough to bring a cocktail outfit I wore to a wedding once, so I didn’t look too out of place.

There were a lot of guests–way more than I expected–that it filled the foyer by the ballroom. Mind you, the ballroom is huge. If I remember correctly, the runway for the event was about 100 meters, and the guests pretty much filled up the area around it.

The event was beautiful. The ballroom was tastefully styled by some of the top event stylists in the industry–Gideon Hermosa, Teddy Manuel and Michael Ruiz. Different suppliers of the wedding industry were there, all glammed up and enjoying the event. It was a fun get-together and a really impressive way of showcasing the works of talented designers. Props to Marriott for a great program! They really make you see and feel the grandness of the place, it’ll be hard to not want to get married there.

I wasn’t able to take as much photos as I’d hoped because I was concentrated on looking at what was next on the runway. But I have to say, aside from admiring some of the gowns, I was obsessing over Maricar’s latest do.

I also couldn’t help but notice the cute kids that came out, and the adorable Gutierrez clan, so proud of their little ones on the runway.

Looking forward to attending next year’s event!
